Album Release Party // Festival de Cuancín
On June 12, 2012 we will present our debut album PEOPLE NOW PEOPLE in the Melkweg, Amsterdam. Tickets are now for sale!
Not coincidentally, 12th of June is the twenty-fifth anniversay of the death of Pablo Cuancín, the first and hitherto only Mexican astronaut and a tragically undervalued choreographer. Cuancín made one dance, based on his experiences with weightlessness in outerspace, that survived the test of time:
“el Luchador Escorpión”
We were so impressed with his maniacal spacedance, that Cuancín became a lasting source of inspiration for us. The album release on June 12 will therefore be a FESTIVAL DE CUANCÍN !
Together with Dutch literary collective De Jagers (with authors Sterre Van Rossem, Maurice Seleky and Marjolijn Van Heemstra), Dancers from Outerspace and DJ Takkie we will celebrate the life and work of Cuancín.
See you there!

Our album presentation will take place the 12th of June in Melkweg, Amsterdam. This evening we will, next to showcasing our album, commemorate the 25th anniversary of the death of Pablo Cuancín. He was the first Mexican astronaut and a tragically underappreciated choreographer. Cuancín his choreographic work inspired us along the process of making this album. On this evening, we will tell and reveal the dark sides of Pablo his life and work.
